Annoying EspaƱa Or Something Like That...
I swear alcohol here is stronger than anywhere else.
Not that I´ve been drinking it, since that would be way illegal and uncool. LOL
I´m annoyed because it´s karaoke night tonight. Normally that would not be an issue at all, to the contrary even. But tonight, this old papa keeps singing...he´s on his 4th song as we speak, yep. No fair, I say. Discrimination.
Give me one more beer, and I´ll rugby tackle my rights to sing badly in front of a crowd.
Is there a romanian version of Hakuna Matata? Bring it!

Goats!
Been here for more or less 3 days now, but we´re still so white that we´re slightly racist to the locals, and not yet know our way around too well. With that said, we´ve discovered the town centre today; my feet hurt. Typical pretty, pictoresque streets with so many shops that even if we had the money, we wouldn´t have the time. Also, men with goats. Honest. Bearded short man, obviously spanish, carrying goat.
Everything is very dreamy over here, as i pondered laying on the beach with my sunglasses and hat covering my face. I daydreamed for a while, attempting to tan, and when i opened my eyes, everything was a haze. You know, how your dreams sometimes are, mostly on tv, slightly foggy, but in a dreamy way, which makes everything look better, yes? Indeed it does. But then i realised that in fact, my glasses were blurry. I wiped them and first noticed the sand, pretty and...sandy. Then further down towards the water, the all typical fat man washing himself. Or whatever those guys do. Risking a harsh stereotypes, but there is always that fat guy, with the huuuuuuuge beer belly that just hangs around at the water- doesn´t swim, doesn´t sunbathe, just sort of stands there, and stares at you. I did kep contact for a while, but then he became rather hot. And then i wiped my glasses and just closed my eyes for less dramatic effect! Phew close one! =O
Benefits of the hotel- the one that hasn´t kicked us out yet- are that we get this hand tag/bracelet thing that entitles you to free drinks and snacks. I just thought i was one of the chosen ones, really, in my humble opinion.
The food has eyes, and is crunchy, just how i like it! =P So that is not a problem.
Also, had a weird dream last night. A horror movie about Michael Jackson. Very odd.
I should probably get new sunglasses, these are messing with my eyes and are probably haunted..
Because this hotel is so majestic.. we get free entertainment, which is up for debate. I mean we do have a huge group of chavs staying here, which in their own right are an ongoing 24/7 show. But last night was karaoke, and boy you haven´t seen karaoke until you hear Hakuna Matata in german, sung by twins. Now THAT is quality entertainment, my friends. For free. -jumps of joy- =)
P.S We also found the beach yesterday, which was quite useful.
"E acolo unde-o vad!" LOL or in english: "It´s there where I see it!" -genius, really.

Spain - Gaining Entrance
Arived in Spain, and as expected already it has not gone to plan!
Flight was fine, just as we arrived at the hotel, they said our reservation was not recognized and sent us to a different hotel... -rolling eyes-
Oh and because of that mishap, we missed dinner trying to find a different hotel to stay at, so I have good reason for being on my second beer! =)
Too dark and probably too tipsy to find beach yet, but i´m sure they´ll feed us tomorrow. They´d better.
Oh and mum is more than slightly drunk (but she says TIPSY). And she just slapped me.
Laterz!

Update
Went to Scotland last week. And yes...a bit late on the updates. Edinburgh was amazing. Nothing near to Paris, but still awesomeness. I'm not gonna promise to post the pictures on here at some point.. because i'm pretty sure i did that with Paris and it never happened. It was a happy week. And that's all that matters, with pictures or not.

Christianity?
Here i am sat cross legged on my bed with an overheated laptop, debating myself whether i should blog about camp or not. Because if i do, i know all the confusion about Christianity and not much camp-talk will end up being written. I've been putting this off for nearly a week now. Not because i don't know what to say, but because what i have to say about it all overwhelms me every time i think about it, and honestly it has been on my mind most of the time.
I arrived at christian camp thinking "what am i doing here, I'm not even a christian!?" and "look at all these weirdos with Bibles!!". What struck me was how all these "weirdos" somehow connected on a level that i haven't seen before, they believed in something great with all of their heart and understood each other for it. They seemed to have so much love and trust, which i still can't grasp. How can these people be so sure, so understanding, so forgiving and just so... faithful?
I've lived fine so far without belief in God or any other "above all" spirit thingy, so why contradict myself now? Maybe there is just something particularly attractive about so many people having complete trust into something Holy, that won't do them wrong. Someone they can love that loves them back and forgives them whenever they need forgiveness. Someone that makes such sacrifices and expects nothing back, just faith and love? Maybe I've got it all wrong, but that sounds great to me. And yet, it goes against what i believe in. Here's the catch, i believe in facts. But now I'm leaning over to believing that science in a reinforcement of religion, and not an opposite, or a contradiction to it.
I wasn't a christian on camp, and I'm not one now. But God, if you're really there, give me time to give you a true chance, because right now, i can't jump straight in. And save me one of those halos please, they look fun!
<< Umm...yeah. So camp was fun and....interesting!
"Your boob is comin' out of your bra, lemme help you!"
"mmm squidgy!"
"And in and out and in and out and turn around, and in and out and in and out turn around!!" :))
-raises eyebrow-
Don't ask. Really. Don't. Ssssshhht. Just walk away from the scary sock-faced guy.

Camp
So i gave camp a try this year. To begin with i only knew 2 people there who i didn't even share a tent with. This later turned out to be the best, because i have now met so many new people that i now keep in touch with, so yay to that!
Camping out for a week, in the rain, the wind, the cold and the sunny is all that more interesting with people that you don't know. The knowing each other bit didn't take too long and became friendlier and friendlier. Some VERY friendly with each other. =)
I don't have time to give a detailed story or put pictures up so this will be a short overview.
Here it goes:
- I don't regret going.
- In fact, i think it was one of the best times i've had on a trip.
- It was AWESOME.
- The tent didn't flood, which was a bonus.
- It was Christian camp, which at first made me very nervous of going, but in the end kinda made me want to become a christian. Who knew christianity could be so fun?
- There was a barndance. It was like the camp, AWESOME.
- So yeah. It kicked ass. That pretty much sums it up i think.

Thorpe Park
A fantastic day out on rollercoasters!! My second time there.. last time didn't do Stealth because nobody would come with me!! Cowards =)

Only managed a few snaps here and there from the queues...most have people's heads in the way too :)
Helen: So why are we doing this again?
Ruru: Because it's fun. :))

My "seatbelt" thing wouldn't open and i was stuck to the seat, which was very good while the ride was on, but not so great once it was over =)
- Ze mighty Colossus; one of if not the best ride there, closely competing with Stealth. Both are short enough for you to finish on the same breath and scream you started on.
Some other awesomeness rides were Samurai and Vortex, but i have no pictures of those.
To Megan:"If you puke on me, i will kill you."
To Everybody: "If anybody pukes, do it sideways and aim for somebody you don't like the look of"
Ruru on the Vortex to BestFriend: "If i die, you can have my dragon colection"

Motherland: Recording Good Times
Happy people =)
Museum porn!!
Naked dude =O

Lookie that!

I have another shot of this with less blurr but i sorta like the thing i'm doing with my hand it
looks supernatural o.0
I bet you can't do that. Hehe LOL.

I like this one...
We took pictures with most the animals there although taking pictures was strictly forbidden. There was this lady that was giving us a really evil look; if she wasn't an employee then she was just weird!

If i get
another chance
at life as a fish,
i'm so totally
being that fish.

Yes, i used to be mayor. Lotsa things you didn't know about me...

For some reason I took pictures with all these statuesque hunks at the National History Museum Grigore Antipa.
But i'll only post 2, since they are way toosexeh for this blog.

-Poke-
Dude had holes instead of eyes, he was practically asking for it!!

If i'm right, this painting is at Palatul Sutu, Bucharest right now.
It makes my skin crawl. WTF is up with that kid? It looks like a 40 year old man with a 3 year old body. Freaky shit. And why the grapes? I really need to learn to "appreciate art" more.

A pretty bleak
place that had a
glimpse of sunshine
coming through.
On the way to the airport...

LOL Classic!!You often see those on normal roads too, which is pretty intriguing for foreigners. =)

Picture says it all....
Proudly telling you that....he is my uncle. LOL *crowd cheers*
I think that's the best shot i took. :))
Another trip over and Motherland, goodbye. Till we meet again...

Motherland: Wonder Toilet!
Back to civilisation. Mighty village experience...hmm.....could've gone better. The mud/dust/poop everywhere is a minus though. If you've ever been in any small village in eastern Romania you'd know. By small i mean... i don't think it's on the map and by poop everywhere i mean cows everywhere.
Well well, diarrhoea kept me more than entertained though. I felt sick the whole time there LOL.
Another thing was the toilet. It's outside. Need i say more? If you're posh you probably don't get what i mean by a romanian outside toilet, it is anything but posh!! It gets damn cold at night, i tell you that from experience. It being a wooden box with a seat much too high for your buttcheeks unless you're about 7ft tall, it adds to the fun. But above all, the best thing about it is that you can't close the door. Options are : close the door and remain in complete black scary darkness OR leave it cracked open and give the people in the village a sneak peek. Yes, it has complete view of the village road. They see you, you see them- lovely.
So there i was, feet suspended, waving to the passer byers. LOL In my mind... Hi...thanks for staring at me poo, how are you today??I'd invite you in my home but as you can SEE i'm busy... Village peeps there are real characters >.<
This is blatantly a very pooey post =) But I had to blog this to give it the Ruru Award for "The Worst, Skunk Repelling, Weather Bitten Toilet".
-crowd cheers-
And still... can you imagine how much worse it would have been to be constipated? Sheesh!!! Would've spent double time there LMAO!

Motherland: The Return Of The Grandma
Left my dad's place yesterday. On our last day together my grandma(his mom) showed up in Bucharest for some doctor's appointment. I love her dearly and all but God why oh why does she have to kiss my neck everytime she sees me??? Kiss on the cheek= normal greeting, but neck grandma kissing= freeeeeeaky. It creeps me out. She hangs on to me and kisses my neck, i swear, like a vampire!! Gross!
I arrived in Iasi at 12:10 am last night and found out that we're invited to go to a party.
I've just been on a train for 6/7 hours, i'm in no party mood, right? Wrong. Because you see, when i'm tired i act just like when i'm drunk, which is very happy-like. LOL. I've never been proper drunk though, so maybe i'm wrong. The party was kick ass! I only knew 2 people-ish there, but i suppose that made it more fun. It was Cosmin's (actor i met 2 years back) birthday. Happy Birthday!!! By the time we got there everyone was pretty drunk, including birthday boy who was wasted and doing some sort of african ritual dance around the room LOL.
Cake...food... and good music. Ze awesomeness!
Left at about 3am when i was very close to getting into someone else's car.
Now... bright and early (for me) we're all (auntie, mom, grandma, uncle) going to the oh so mighty village where my grandma and grandpa live.
Dad and neck-kissing-grandma are back in their own homes. Thanks Dadster for everything and i hope you know i had ze awesomeness time with you, okie dokie? I love the way we take excessive amounts of pictures LOL - every street corner!!
Moving on to mom's side of the family...see how that goes...
No internet btw, that village's too sexeh for the net =) So no updates till i get back to civilisation.
Let's hope a cow doesn't eat me or something. Evil scary creatures.

Motherland: The Beginning
1am
Oh how i could've just slept on... But nope. At 1am i was on the bus. On the very cold, full of geriatrics bus to Gatwick. Yay...
2am
Starting to resemble death. Just a more uh...human version of death.
4am
Finally at the damn airport. About time!!
5am
Checking in... Security stops me because i hold a Romanian passport. Yes ALERT ALERT romanian trying to invade! Oh please, just let me go through you screwed up check-in person, you're just as tired as i am. How sucky must that be? A night shift as the check-in dude/dudette. Dang!! =O
7am
Still looking like death, after 2 more hours of wait/dozing off even more so. Everyone around me looks all friggin smiley faced and AWAKE... Geez. I wish i had a tent, then i could just camp there and sleep...
8am-11am
Finally on the damn thing. I must have the flying toddler curse or something because i always manage to sit right in front of a screaming kid. Why oh why?? All i wanted was to sleep, is that too much to ask for??
It's your fault you have a kid, OK? Not mine. So make it shut up before i stuff this useless Easyjet magazine down his throat, damnit!! =O
And ya know...i could've dealt with it if it was constant. But NOOOO , this kid was like my alarm clock, you never know when it's gonna attack. As i dozed off, getting used to the whole screaming extravaganza, i was in peaceful NapLand when i get this HARD kick in the back. Uh huh. Easyjet needs some serious new seats, people. Hyper kid was dancing. Yes, dancing, using my seat as his dancefloor.
Let's just say that... i wasn't the kid's biggest fan right then. The parents were just like "awww how cute". I was about to turn around.. smack their heads together and get the kid's seat belt and tie him up, then put him in the overhead compartment. Voila! Job done.
Sadly that was just a daydream.
11am-now
Hello Romania... so we meet again! Pretty darn good. Still haven't slept for over 50 hours but i look less like death, since I had a shower, some food and spent quality time with ze Dadster. =)
I'm happy now.
Although sleep is needed. Badly.

Wales? Nooo! I'll stick with England
Wales is one strange place. Not nearly as strange as Romania, but hey, at least Romania's funny because it's so fucked up. Wales is just.. just strange. Not strange in a bad way particularly, it just strikes me as a place i wouldn't wanna visit more than once.. OK maybe twice for the people i know that are there.
Their language is something else. Their words are something like"gfbtnmrbdstplkDYDD". Really now, what the hell?!
Journey up there was a nightmare. Mom and Cliff couldn't agree on a CD to play LOL. Then when i turned my iPod on they told me off for it, saying it was too loud. WTF?? Anyways, whole journey took way over 3 hours.
3 hours in a car?! Are you kidding me? I was so bored i started counting dead sheep. Yes, there are quite a few in Wales. Dead sheep then lamp posts... clouds....pigeons... trucks, cars, people. You name it, i counted it.
Just a thought- how come all truck drivers are ugly and over 50? Girl hasn't got any eye candy on the road!! It's tragic.
Once we got there it suddenly turned from suicidally boring to awesomeness. =) We stayed at our romanian friends, which by the way cook VERY well. Food wasn't an issue. If the food is there and plenty, i'm a happy bunny. I'm a simple person with simple needs, good food is one of them!
Now.. maybe i shouldn't judge since i wasn't there for a long time but..Swansea seemed to me like a big huge industrial dump. Port Talbot even more so. Swansea beach wasn't half bad, Mumbles pier actually very nice.

Tried the sepia effect for once and somehow this picture reminds me of America 1920s? LOL.

Frozen moments.
I like this one. Taking a picture of someone taking a picture.
=)

That's Mumbles Pier. Looks like Wales gets the good weather from England. :) The sky and the sea were one and the same.
Hopefully the next and LAST time i go to Wales it will be sunny. LOL.
Now back in oh so mighty Dorset, England and waiting to go to Belgium. That's my next victim.
Until then...homework homework homework coursework coursework coursework...oh and exams. =) hehe I hate the british school system. If i could i would cut the whole system up into bits and throw it in the government people's faces. Grumpy old men they are anyway! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

All Frenched Up
So Ruru went to Paris and EuroDisney this weekend. =) It was ze awesomeness!!! We arrived in Paris on Friday evening and went on a boat ride on the Seine. Ride=amazing, view=amazing, my ass= frozen. So we
froze to death, because most of us on the trip decided hats were NOT a good idea... Well folks, don't ever go for fashion statements instead of warmth unless you want some french frostbite as a souvenir. We had dinner at this french/chinese restaurant/place-that-serves-food. Food wasn't bad but what was disturbing was that there were naked paintings next to each table. Also most of the staff was chinese, and french sounds veryyy funny with a chinese accent.Disneyland...oh Disneyland... what a fabtastic place. Yet again i froze because my shoes were not made for the cold, actually they were meant for 30 degrees C weather. Summer shoes= not useful in sub zero conditions. They weren't sandals or anything, my craziness doesn't go to exact insanity, and i was wearing 2 pairs of socks!! Still no good. I had to buy a hat, to at least keep my brain warm and in place, so i bought a top hat =) with Mr. Scrooge on it!!! That hat definitely got a few looks and giggles. =)
*should wear that hat skiing.
=)
So then i got a bit carried away and..
..bought another hat.
Yui and me, proudly wearing our "new ears" :) You are ze
awesomeness chica, rock on!!Because i'm running out of time rapidly, this'll have to end here. Awesomeness trip, great food..amazing people. :)
...yes..another one.what can i say...HAT FETISH!!!!! :)
